Box Score PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University baseball team dropped its Skyline Conference contest to Purchase College, 12-2, at the Purchase College Baseball Field on Wednesday evening. Yeshiva was the official home team.
The Panthers (9-12, 4-0 Skyline) scored in every inning to earn the win. The Maccabees (0-16, 0-6 Skyline) scored both of their runs in the bottom of the fifth. Junior
Josh Gurin drilled a single to center, scoring sophomore third baseman
Jared Isaac, for Yeshiva's first run. Up next was junior catcher
Shmuli Goldis, who drove in Gurin on an RBI double to right.
For the contest, Goldis collected two hits, while junior outfielder
Binyamin Bromberg picked up his first collegiate hit in the bottom of the sixth. Junior outfielder
Elan Paul added a single of his own. On the mound, Paul started and took the loss, giving up three earned runs and striking out one hitter in 2.1 innings pitched.
The Maccabees will be back in action on Friday, for a Skyline Conference doubleheader at Old Westbury, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
