Box Score 2 BRONX, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University softball team dropped both ends of its Skyline Conference doubleheader to Farmingdale State, at Fordham University, on Friday afternoon. The Maccabees fell in game one, 16-1, while falling in game two, 11-3.

The Maccabees got its lone run in the opening game, courtesy of an RBI double by senior pitcher
Rachel Mirsky that scored sophomore utility player
Elisa Alweis, in the bottom of the fifth. She also pitched a complete game in the circle. For the game, Mirsky drilled two doubles, while senior shortstop
Rebecca Kleiner produced a double and a single. Sophomore first baseman
Michal Alge produced a double with five putouts, while sophomore utility player
Liat Wasserman and senior catcher
Lieba Swartz-Brownstein each produced a single. The Maccabees outhit the Rams, 7-5.

In the second game, Farmingdale State (7-9, 5-1 Skyline) scored two runs in the top of the first to jump out to a 2-0 advantage. Yeshiva (5-12, 2-8 Skyline) responded by scoring three runs in the bottom frame. Two of those runs were driven off the bat of Alge, as she drilled a ground-rule double, scoring Mirsky and Kleiner to put the Maccabees ahead.

The Rams would swing momentum back into their favor in the top of the third, by scoring five runs to take the lead, 7-3, and they never looked back. Mirsky took the loss in the circle, but pitched her 15
th complete game of the season. Alge recorded two hits, while

Erin Potasnick, and sophomore outfielder
Ellie Chase each recorded one hit. Kleiner registered a stolen base.

The Maccabees will be back in action on Sunday, for a Skyline Conference doubleheader at Mount Saint Mary, beginning at 12:00 p.m.
