Box Score BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University men's volleyball team suffered a non-conference loss to Brooklyn College, in straight sets, at the West Quad Center on Wednesday evening. Set scores were 25-16, 25-12, and 25-12.
Brooklyn (8-5) never trailed at any point in the match. Yeshiva (0-4) was able to tie the set twice in the first stanza, but Brooklyn led from wire-to-wire in the last two games.
Leading the way for Yeshiva was freshman outside hitter
Jonathan Greenberg, who slammed home a team-high six kills and helped out defensively with two digs and one block.
Junior middle blocker
Itai Guttman added three kills, had just as many blocks, produced two digs, and recorded a service ace. Classmate
Mathew Rosenberg scored two kills and anchored the defense with just as many digs. Senior libero
Hirschy Zaks also had two digs, while sophomore opposite hitter
Chaim Aryeh Rubin added one.
Junior setter
Michael Klein led the team with 10 assists and had one kill, while freshman setter
Sander Eizen picked up two helpers, and freshman defensive specialist
Sean Morady added one assist with two digs. Senior outside hitter
Eytan Darrison scored a service ace. Sophomore middle blocker
Samuel Marcus and freshman outside hitter
Julien Saka each slammed home a kill.
The Maccabees will be back in action on Sunday, as Yeshiva hosts Pratt and Culinary Institute of America in the Yeshiva University Tri-Match, at the Max Stern Athletic Center. YU will battle CIA at 12:00 p.m., Pratt takes on CIA at 2:00 p.m., and then Yeshiva meets Pratt at 4:00 p.m.
