Box Score 2 PALISADES PARK, N.J. – The Yeshiva University baseball team dropped both ends of its Skyline Conference double-header to St. Joseph's College Long Island, in Palisades Park, on Sunday afternoon. Yeshiva fell in game one, 12-0, and dropped the second contest, 20-0.
In the first game, junior shortstop
Shmuli Goldis, freshman catcher
Max Goldstein, and freshman third baseman
Jacobo Bassan each produced a single. It was not enough as the Golden Eagles (8-4, 2-0 Skyline) scored five runs in the first two innings, and never looked back.
On the mound, junior pitcher
Mordechai Cohen pitched a complete game, striking out three batters, but took the loss.
In the second end of the double-header, St. Joseph's scored two runs in the opening frame and never surrendered the lead. Yeshiva's (0-9, 0-6 Skyline) lone hit came on a bunt single by senior center fielder
Elan Paul, to lead off the bottom of the first. For the game, Paul stole two bases, while Goldis had a stolen base of his own. Freshman starting pitcher
Aryeh Salovey struck out two batters in five innings pitched, to take the loss. Senior pitcher,
Rephael Rosenberg gave up no earned runs, and struck out one batter, in two innings of relief.
Yeshiva will be back in action on Tuesday, for a Skyline double-header at Purchase College, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
