Box Score PALISADES Park, N.J. – The Yeshiva University baseball team suffered a non-conference loss to the City College of New York, 14-3, at Palisades Park on Wednesday evening. YU now falls to 0-3 to start the season.
The Beavers (1-5) scored four runs in the top of the third to take a commanding 6-0 advantage. In the bottom of the fourth, sophomore outfielder
Josh Fogel produced a single with one out. Junior shortstop
Shmuli Goldis drilled the ball to left field that hit the ground and over the fence, for a ground-rule double. The next hitter, junior first baseman
Chaim Nosson Rosenberg, scorched a liner to left but it was caught by the CCNY left-fielder. However, the ball was hit deep enough, resulting in Fogel scoring on the play from third, for Yeshiva's first run.
In the bottom of the sixth, freshman second baseman
Jacobo Bassan hit a single to drive in
Chaim Nosson Rosenberg for Yeshiva's third run. That would cap off the Maccabees' run production as CCNY went on to win the seven inning single-game, 14-3.
For the evening, junior outfielder
Eli Lipner produced a hit, stole a base, and scored a run, while
Chaim Nosson Rosenberg drew a walk and picked up an RBI. Sophomore outfielder
