Box Score 2 WEST HARRISON, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University baseball team suffered a pair of losses at the hands of Mount Saint Vincent, at Silver Lake Park, on Sunday evening. Yeshiva dropped game one, 15-4, and lost the second game by a score of 17-3.
Mount Saint Vincent led from wire-to-wire in each end of the double-header.
In game one, the Maccabees and Dolphins each produced nine hits as a team. Senior center fielder
Elan Paul produced an RBI single in both the top of the third and the top of the fifth, to jump-start Yeshiva's run production. In the top of the sixth, sophomore left fielder
Josh Fogel drilled an RBI double and would later come around to score thanks to a pair of wild pitches.
For the game, Fogel went 3-for-3 with an RBI, two runs scored, and two stolen bases. Paul went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a stolen base. Junior right fielder
Mordechai Cohen picked up two hits in three at-bats with a run scored and a stolen base. Freshman third baseman
Jordan Shafron hit a single and stole a base, while freshman designated hitter
Jacobo Bassan scored a run. On the mound, senior pitcher
Rephael Rosenberg struck out six hitters in five innings pitched, but took the loss.
In the second game, Shafron produced a two-run double in the top of the fourth. Cohen produced a single and scored a run during the contest. Shafron and freshman second baseman
Mordy Kirsch each drew a walk. On the mound, Paul struck out the side in one inning of relief.
