Box Score 2 BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University softball team dropped both ends of its Skyline Conference double-header to St. Joseph's College Brooklyn, at American Legion Field, on Sunday afternoon. Yeshiva lost game one, 12-0, while falling in the second game by a score of 21-1.
In the opening game, the Bears scored five runs in the first and never looked back. For the game, senior third baseman
Shoshana Rozenberg and sophomore right fielder
Leah Feder each produced a single for Yeshiva's only two hits of the game. In the circle, sophomore pitcher
Samantha Cohen pitched a complete game but took the loss.
In game two, the Maccabees (2-16, 0-14 Skyline) got off to a much better start. Junior center fielder
Ellie Chase led off the contest with a single and then stole second. Junior second baseman
Liat Wasserman advanced Chase to third on a single. Senior shortstop
Hannah Dubin grounded out to first, but picked up the RBI as Chase scored to put Yeshiva up, 1-0.
Cohen pitched a scoreless first inning, but the Bears (18-12, 8-10 Skyline) scored 12 runs in the second to put the game out of reach for the Maccabees. For the game, Wasserman went 2-for-2, while Cohen took the loss in the circle.
Yeshiva will play Mount Saint Vincent on Monday, in a Skyline Conference double-header at Padavan-Preller Fields, beginning at 4:00 p.m.
