Barry Neuberger Tabbed as Assistant Athletics Director for Recruiting and Alumni Relations

NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University Athletics Department announced the hiring of Barry Neuberger as the Assistant Athletics Director for Recruiting and Alumni Relations, on Monday.

Neuberger has three decades worth of experience in intercollegiate athletics, with a focus on initiating and driving consistent revenue growth. His primary responsibilities at Yeshiva will include overseeing the recruitment of potential student-athletes in accordance with NCAA, Skyline Conference, and Yeshiva University's policies and procedures to its 15-sport Division III athletics program, overseeing the Young Alumni Board and the Blue & White Club, as well as taking the lead on initiating all Hall of Fame activities.

"I am genuinely excited to join Yeshiva University's Athletics Department and enhancing the athletics fundraising and student-athlete recruitment areas," Neuberger said. "I look forward to working with Joe Bednarsh and his staff, and continuing the positive momentum generated by the Maccabees' recent success."

Neuberger comes to Yeshiva from Columbia University, where he served as the Associate Athletics Director for Sports Marketing, Corporate Sponsorship, and Retail Operations from 2005-2017. While at Columbia, Neuberger developed the University's first corporate sponsorship program, which exceeded revenue goals in all 11 years. He rebranded the athletics department with new logos and marks during the 2006-07 season, which led to the creation of the department's first line of athletics merchandise. Neuberger also developed a program of football and basketball broadcasts. The first was on commercial radio from 2007-2009, and then through webcasting on gocolumbialions.com.

Prior to Columbia, Neuberger was the Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing and Development at Oakland University from 1997-2001, where he developed full game presentation and promotional plans which led to exceeding attendance and revenue goals in each and every year.

Neuberger was the Director of Development for Athletics at DePaul University (1995) and Georgia State University (1993-1995).

The Pace University alumnus also worked at New York University as the Assistant Athletics Director for External Relations, where he created an annual giving program for athletics called the Violet Booster Club. He traveled with the University President to host alumni receptions at away men's basketball games. He also initiated sponsorship, promotional events, and the in-game presentation for men's basketball games, resulting in a sold out gymnasium of 2,500 people for Division III games.

"The wealth of knowledge and experience Barry brings with him will make us better administrators and have an immediate impact on the program," Yeshiva University Director of Athletics, Mr. Bednarsh said. "I am excited to welcome him to our staff."

A resident of New York, N.Y., Neuberger earned his B.B.A. in Accounting, Finance, and Management from Pace University in 1978.
