NEW YORK, N.Y. – This week's Yeshiva University Student-Athletes of the Week are senior forward Michal Alge of the women's basketball team, and junior forward Gabriel Leifer of the men's basketball team.

The two honorees earned a spot on the Skyline Conference Weekly Honor Roll, this past Monday.

Alge scored her 1,000^th career point at Old Westbury, becoming the second player in program history to earn the milestone. She becomes the first player in team history to score 1,000 points and grab 1,000 rebounds for her career. The Boston native produced a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds in Yeshiva's victory at The City College of New York. Alge generated another double-double by scoring 15 points and clutching 16 boards, while dishing out a game-high seven assists, at College of New Rochelle.

Leifer led the Maccabees to a pair of wins this week. The Lawrence resident produced a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds, while dishing out six assists and blocking three shots in YU's Skyline victory over Merchant Marine. The second-year forward tallied a career-high 33 points and brought down 10 rebounds, while distributing five assists against Moravian College. In the win over the Greyhounds, Leifer went 13-for-18 from the field, including 2-for-3 from beyond the arc.
