NEW YORK, N.Y. – This week's Yeshiva University Student-Athletes of the Week are senior forward
Michal Alge of the women's basketball team, and junior forward
Daniel Katz of the men's basketball team.
Alge brought down her 1,000
th career rebound in Yeshiva's victory over St. Joseph's College Long Island, on Tuesday. She becomes the first YU women's basketball player in history to accomplish this feat. During that evening, the Boston native produced a double-double with 15 points and 18 boards. Alge now has 971 points and 1,014 rebounds in her illustrious career. In the victory over Mount Saint Vincent, earlier in the week, Alge produced a career-high 27 points and brought down 12 rebounds, for the double-double, while forcing a game-high eight steals with two blocks.
Katz led Yeshiva to two Skyline victories, this week. In the win over Mount Saint Vincent, on Saturday evening, Katz led all players with 19 points, on 9-10 shooting, while grabbing seven rebounds and dishing out four assists. In the victory over St. Joseph's College Long Island, the Baltimore native had four dimes to go along with two points and three rebounds.
