Box Score BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University men's volleyball team dropped a non-conference contest to Brooklyn College, in straight sets, on Tuesday evening at the West Quad Center. Set scores were 25-8, 25-15, and 25-11.
After dropping the first two sets, junior outside hitter
Chaim Aryeh Rubin scored a service that gave YU (1-6) a 3-2 lead in the third game. A kill by sophomore middle blocker
Joshua Rosenberg allowed Yeshiva to retake the lead, 4-3. The Bulldogs (5-7) would not be down for long, as the home team closed out the game with a 22-7 run to clinch the match in straight sets.
Rubin had a team-high three kills, scored two aces, and produced just as many digs. Sophomore setter
Derek Orenshein had two kills and an ace, while freshman opposite hitter
Isaac Pomerance had a team-high eight assists with three digs. Rosenberg added two kills.
Leading the way on defense was junior outside hitter
Amitai Miller, who produced seven digs and one block.
Yeshiva will open up Skyline Conference play on Sunday, with a tri-match at St. Joseph's Long Island. The Maccabees will battle the Panthers of Purchase College at 2:00 p.m., and then take on the host Golden Eagles at 4:00 p.m.
