NEW YORK, N.Y. – This week's Yeshiva University Student-Athletes of the Week are senior guard
Nicole Bick of the women's basketball team, and junior guard
Simcha Halpert of the men's basketball team.
It was a strong week for the two guards, as Bick and Halpert each earned a spot on the Skyline Conference Weekly Honor Roll, on Monday, and were both named honorable mention by the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association, on Tuesday.
Bick produced a career-high 35 points, and grabbed eight rebounds, at Sarah Lawrence College on Sunday. Earlier in the week, Bick led the Macs in scoring with 17 points at Mount Saint Vincent. This past Tuesday, The Edison resident scored 12 points, dished out a pair of assists, and had just as many steals against the College at Old Westbury.
Halpert led Yeshiva to a 3-0 record in Skyline play, this week. The Los Angeles native produced a game-high 21 points to go along with four assists at Mount Saint Vincent. The third-year guard converted six 3-point field goals and scored 22 points, while grabbing five boards, dishing out two assists, and forcing just as many steals at Sarah Lawrence College. Halpert added 18 points, including four 3-point baskets, and dished out three dimes against the College at Old Westbury.
