Box Score 2 PALISADES PARK, N.J. – The Yeshiva University baseball team suffered a pair of Skyline Conference losses to St. Joseph's College Long Island, by scores of 5-1 and 17-0, at Palisades Park on Friday afternoon. The Golden Eagles advance to 4-6 in the Skyline (11-11 overall), while the Maccabees drop to 0-12 in conference play (2-17 for the season).
In game one, junior starting pitcher
Alex Malech held the Golden Eagles to just two runs through the first 4.2 innings. St. Joseph's added two runs in the fifth, capped off by a sacrifice fly from junior third baseman Tyler Sanderson to extend the visiting team's lead to 4-0.
In the top of the sixth, freshman designated hitter Charles Rainone slapped an RBI single to left to put YU in a 5-0 hole. Yeshiva got one run back in the bottom frame, as junior shortstop
Zachary Baly led off the inning with a single and then stole second base. After the next two Macs' hitters struck out, freshman first baseman
David Kreisberg came through with a single to right, scoring Baly and pulling YU to within four.
That was as close as Yeshiva would get, as junior starting pitcher Tim Woodford did not allow a hit the rest of the way to earn the complete-game victory. He struck out 16 YU hitters in the process. For the Maccabees, Malech gave up just one earned run in seven innings pitched, fanning five batters along the way. Junior pitcher

St. Joseph's Long Island was held to just five hits. For Yeshiva, Baly earned two walks. Kreisberg stole a base while senior left fielder
Aryeh Salovey and junior third baseman
Mordy Kirsch each singled.
In game two, St. Joseph's Long Island scored three runs in the top of the first and never looked back. The Golden Eagles then put up an 8-spot in the sixth to blow the game open. Senior shortstop Jesse Nakashian led the way by going 4-for-5 with three runs scored. Freshman first baseman Nick Vicino produced an RBI double and a run-scoring single, while senior center fielder Gehrig Montoro went 3-for-6 with a pair of run-scoring singles. On the mound, freshman Kevin Czeczotka pitched seven shutout innings, striking out nine YU hitters, to earn the complete-game victory.
For the Maccabees, Hanelin went 2-for-3 with a double, while Salovey hit another single. Junior catcher
Max Goldstein produced a one-base hit and walked, while first-year second baseman
Leib Fant earned a base on balls and sophomore right fielder

Dovie Solomon started the game and took the loss.
The Maccabeees will host Mount Saint Mary College, in a Skyline doubleheader at Palisades Park, on Sunday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. It is Senior Day as Yeshiva University will honor graduating seniors
