Women's Basketball Aims to Reach New Heights in 2022-23 Season

NEW YORK – The Yeshiva University women's basketball team is back in action for the 2022-23 season.

The Maccabees will begin the year with a non-conference matchup against Baruch College, at ARC Arena, on Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. Yeshiva will be the official home team for the season-opening contest.

Baruch College will be providing live streaming video which can be accessed here. Fans can also follow the action via live stats which can be viewed here. Be sure to print out the game program.

After narrowly missing the Skyline Conference Championships last season, the Maccabees aim to clinch their first ever berth in the conference postseason this year.

YU will have a veteran squad in 2022-23 with seven returners and three rookies. The team captains this year will be Yuval Nitzan and Daniella Rothman, who are both seniors. Also returning to the Macs this year will be junior Shai Rahamim, second-year player Daniella Bessler, senior Gabrielle Kupferman, classmate Nina Yurovsky, and senior Yael Dannenbaum. The three rookies joining the team this year are Abigail Koenig, Jasmin Maly-Danker, and Mia Denti.

Bill Zatulskis will enter his third year as head coach of the Yeshiva University women's basketball team. He will be assisted by Chana Boltax, Renee Benjamini, and Stephany Neptune.

Yeshiva's opponent in the season opener, Baruch College, has a young team as nine of its 10 players are underclassmen. The only upperclassman is junior Kristina Arvelo. Last year, Baruch made it to the CUNY Athletic Conference Semifinals, but fell short to John Jay College, 66-56.
