NEW YORK – The Yeshiva University baseball team will begin the 2023 season with a doubleheader against Western Connecticut State University, at Silver Lake Park, on Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m.
The Maccabees have a young team as nine of the 15 players on the roster are rookies, including team captain
Mendy Kanofsky. "Kanofsky has demonstrated a humble coachability paired with a commitment to hard work and elevating his game to the college level," Yeshiva University Assistant Coach
Jeremy Schwartz ('11) said. "We trust his leadership will point our program in the right direction for the next four years and are excited for the future."
The young Macs will be supported by veteran players
Joshua Mintz,
Ari Rosenberg,
Adam Zahler,
Eliyahu Solomon,
Sammy Greenberg, and
David Price.
Marty Craft returns for his fifth season as head coach of the Yeshiva University baseball team. He will once again be assisted by Schwartz and
Chaim Rosenberg ('18).

YU will play in two non-conference doubleheaders as the home team over the course of the next two Sundays before taking on Utica University in a neutral twin bill at Diamond Nation on March 5. After Yeshiva plays two more home games against The City College of New York, on March 12, the Maccabees will battle the Bloodhounds of John Jay College out in Coney Island on March 14.
Yeshiva will open Skyline play on March 19 with a pair of games at St. Joseph's University Brooklyn. YU's last home games of the year will be against Mount Saint Mary College, on April 30, before concluding the season with a pair of contests at Maritime College on May 7.
