Rolling through their conference opponents, the Maccabees finished first overall in the Gold Division with a record of 11-5 in Skyline play, locking down the ranking thanks to wins over Mount Saint Mary College, The University of Mount Saint Vincent, Sarah Lawrence College, The United States Merchant Marine Academy, St. Joseph's University Brooklyn, St. Joseph's University Long Island, Purchase College, The College at Old Westbury, Manhattanville College, and Maritime College.
While the team performed spectacularly as a whole, individual talents shone through. Four different YU members proved forces on the offensive side of the ball, with
Zevi Samet (23.0),
Max Zakheim (19.7),
Or Sundjyvsky (16.3) and
Dothan Bardichev (10.5) all averaging double-digit points on the year. Even more impressively, Samet and Bardichev accomplished the feat starting all 25 games for the Macs, with Samet's production being so dominant that he claimed the title of top scorer in the conference.
Hosting the quarterfinals, the Maccabees are set to welcome The University of Mount Saint Vincent to the Max Stern Athletic Center on Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 8:00 PM. Follow the link
