Box Score 2 NEWBURGH, NY - Taking on their second Skyline opponent of the season, the Yeshiva softball team dropped a doubleheader to Mount Saint Mary College, losing to the Knights by scores of 16-1 and 13-0 on Monday, Mar. 25.
Â
Yeshiva's lone run came in game one, when
Ashley Botnick stomped on home plate in the top of the first inning, the Macs' first score in almost a week.
Â
From the circle, the maccabees saw a herculean effort out of
Alexis Leibowitz. Leibowitz served as YU's lone pitcher on the day, facing 63 batters over eight innings, and recording two strikeouts in the process.
Â
With the losses, the Macs are 0-12, 0-4 in conference play.
Â
HOW IT HAPPENED - Game 1 (L, 16-1)

Â
- Unfortunately, YU's advantage was not to last. The Macs surrendered three runs in the bottom of the first inning, 11 in the second and two in the third, without managing to put up any more of their own.
Â
HOW IT HAPPENED - Game 2 (L, 13-0)
- Yeshiva was not able to recapture the early magic of game one, failing to notch a run throughout game two.
Â
- The Macs managed to hold the Knights scoreless in the fourth inning, giving up nine runs in the first, three in the second and one in the third.
