POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - Taking up the sword for the first time in the 2025-26 season, the Yeshiva Women's Fencing Team competed in the Vassar College Invitational on Sunday, Nov. 9th.
The Maccabees faced off against: Drew University, Lafayette College, Tufts University, Wellesley College, Yale University, and Vassar College.
With the result, the Macs are now 0-6 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Yeshiva struggled through the majority of their contests, falling to Drew 27-0 in round one, to Tufts 27-0 in round five, to Wellesley 27-0 in round six, to Yale 21-0 in round seven, and to Vassar 25-2 in round eight.
- YU's success came in round three, when the Macs crossed swords with Lafayette. The Maccabees picked up two points in sabre and two points in foil, seeing bout wins from Leora Schramm and Yaffa Gottlieb. Yeshiva then dominated the epee, taking the round 6-3 thanks to victories from Beth Levin, Sarah Tobias, and Meira Novick.

Heading back up to Poughkeepsie, the Macs will once again compete at Vassar on Sunday, Nov. 16th.
