TEANECK, NJ - Picking up their swords for the final time in 2025, the Yeshiva Women's Fencing Team took part in Fairleigh Dickinson University's FDU invitational on Sunday, Dec. 7th.
The Maccabees competed against a quartet of northeastern schools, taking on: FDU, Lafayette College, the Stevens Institute of Technology, and Hunter College
With the result, the Macs are now 0-10 on the year.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After having their bye in round one, Yeshiva started out slow in the second, falling to FDU by a score of 26-1.
- The Maccabees had their most successful outing in round three. Despite ultimately falling to Lafayette, 14-11, the Macs battled hard, seeing bout wins from: Beth Levin, Meira Novick, and Sarah Tobias in epee, Leora Schramm, Sofia Rauh, and Yaffa Gottlieb in foil, and Naava Eisenberg and Aviva Klahr in sabre.
- The Macs rounded out the day with two solid performances in rounds four and five, falling to Stevens, 22-5, and to Hunter, 21-6.

Not competing again until the new year, the Maccabees will take part in Wagner College's Brian Palestis Memorial Invitational on Sunday, Feb. 1st.
