POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - Traveling back up to Poughkeepsie, the Yeshiva Women's Fencing Team competed in Vassar College's Matt Lampel Hudson River Invitational, finishing ninth on Sunday, Nov. 16th.
The Maccabees crossed sword with schools from across the northeast, including: Vassar College, Army, Hunter College, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Binghamton University, University of Rochester, Bryn Mawr College, Marist College, Swarthmore College, and Rochester Institute of Technology.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- As a team, the Maccabees finished ninth of 11, beating out both Swarthmore and RIT.
- In foil, YU finished 8th. After beating Swarthmore to qualify for the bracket, the Macs were knocked into the consolation bracket by Hunter, only to then lose to Binghamton and Marist.
- In epee, the Macs failed to make the bracket, losing to Binghamton in the qualifying round.
- In sabre, Yeshiva also did not make the bracket, falling to Rochester in their qualifying bout.
UP NEXT
Not competing again until December, the Macs will take part in the FDU Invitational on Sunday, Dec. 7th.
