NEW YORK, NY – The women's fencing team took on 7 opponents at Vassar College's Matt Lampell Invitational this past Sunday, and came out victorious in 3 of those competitions. They defeated RPI, Queens, and Bard.
Round 1: Marist 15, Yeshiva 12
The sabre squad finished 8-1 behind three victories each from
Michal Gilboa and
Yakira Abramowitz.
Brahna Kessler had the other two victories. The foil and epee squads fell 7-2, with
Dorit Muskin getting two foil wins and
Tali Kern and
Chana Poslums each getting a win in epee. It was Poslums' and Abramowitz's first collegiate victory.
Round2: Yeshiva 20, RPI 7
Kessler and Gilboa earned the 2 sabre wins. RPI did not field foil or epee squads, forfeiting those bouts 9-0.
Round 3: Yeshiva 14, Queens 13
The score was 9-9 after sabre and foil competitions were finished, and the final epee bout went to overtime, with the winner earning the team victory.
Tali Kern got the win propelling her team to the 1 point win. Foil competitor
Deena Gilboa earned her first ever victory, while her sister, Michal, won all three of her sabre bouts.
Elizabeth Penn took all three epee bouts.
Round 4: Albany 16, Yeshiva 11
The sabre squad won 5-4 behind 3 wins from Kessler and 2 from Gilboa.
Julie Weindruch won her first foil bout of her career, while
Dorit Muskin took all three of her foil bouts. Penn won two of her epee bouts.
Round 5: Yeshiva 22, Bard 5
Foil won 6-3 behind 3 wins from Muskin and 2 from Weindruch.
Elizabeth Penn won 3 epee bouts, while
Avigayil Goldson won 2 and
Tali Kern won 2. Bard did not field a sabre squad.
Round 6: Vassar 24, Yeshiva 3
The Macs won 3 sabre bouts (2 from Gilboa and 1 from Abramowitz) and 3 epee bouts (all from Penn). The foil squad was blanked 9-0.
Round 7: CCNY 22, Yeshiva 5
The sabre squad was shutout 9-0, while foil got 2 wins and epee earned 3. Muskin and Weindruch each won a foil bout, while
Elizabeth Penn took 2 bouts and Goldson took 1.

th, at the Cobra Fencing Club in New Jersey.
