NEW YORK - The Skyline Conference announced its weekly men's cross country award winners Monday afternoon, and Yeshiva University senior
Oliver Sax (University Heights, Ohio) has been selected as the conference's Co-Runner of the Week.
Sax, who won similar honors from the Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference (HVMAC) after the Maccabees' season-opening triumph at the Baruch Invitational (Sept. 9), came through in the clutch once again Sunday (Oct. 21), as his 27:56 time on the 8,000-meter course at Bard College won the 2012 HVMAC Championship and sent YU to its third-consecutive conference title as a team.
First-year head coach Brendan Donoghue's Yeshiva side has now emerged victorious in all three of its meets thus far in 2012 (Oct. 14, St. John's Cross Country Festival). The Maccabees will look to bring more hardware home next Sunday (Oct. 28), when they travel to Chadwick Lake Park in Newburgh, N.Y., for the Skyline Conference Championships. The men's race is scheduled to get underway at 12:45 p.m.
