BRONX, NY - Closing out September with a bang, the Yeshiva Men's Cross Country Team competed in the Queensborough Community College's Queensborough Invitational, finishing 8th of 20 teams on Sunday, Sept. 28th.
Matching up with a number of fellow Skyline schools as a part of a larger field, the Maccabees ran the 8k race against: The United States Merchant Marine Academy, St. Joseph's University Long Island, Farmingdale State College, Maritime College, St. Joseph's University Brooklyn and the University of Mount Saint Vincent.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- As a team, the Maccabees placed eighth of 20 teams, beating out the likes of: the Pratt Institute, Borough of Manhattan Community College, Maritime, Suffolk Community College, SJBK, Hunter College, Medgar Evers College, Union Community College, Queensborough Community College, The City College of New York, UMSV and Lehman College.
- On an individual level, the Macs were led by Synatra Tarenyika, as the grad student placed 27th with a time of 33:04.9.
- Also finishing in the top 50, Jacob Rabinovitch came in at 32nd with a time of 33:46.4, and Avishai Jutkowitz broke the tape in 50th with a time of 35:37.8.
- Rounding out the field for YU, Aharon Cohen finished 98th, Eliezer Siklos finished 130th, Jonathan Werta finished 140th and David Deutsch finished 151st.

Not running again until after the holidays, the Macs will compete in the MSMC Fall Festival on Sunday, Oct. 19th at 11:00 AM.
