NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Sophomore guard Stephanie Greenberg (Cedarhurst, N.Y.) was named to the All-Tournament Team, as the Yeshiva University women's basketball squad placed third over the weekend (Nov. 17-18) at College of New Rochelle's Blue Angels Tip-Off Tournament.

First-year head coach Nesta Felix's Maccabees dropped an opening night decision Saturday to Albertus Magnus College, before capturing her first collegiate victory with an 87-40 triumph Sunday afternoon in the consolation round.

Saturday: Albertus Magnus 107, Yeshiva 42

Junior forward Rebecca Yoshor (Houston, Texas) led the way for the Macs on opening night, as she notched a double-double with 19 points (6-for-13 FG, 7-for-8 FT) and 11 rebounds. Senior frontcourt mate, Naomi Gofine (Toronto, Ont.) also pulled down 11 boards (all on the defensive end of the floor) for YU.

Sunday: Yeshiva 87, Cooper Union 40

Junior guard Haley David (New York, N.Y.) led all players with 27 points (6-for-12 3FG), while also completing a double-double with 10 caroms. Greenberg, who also starred this past fall on head coach Brendan Donoghue's cross country team at Yeshiva, approached a double-double with 21 points, nine steals and seven assists. Yoshor (9 pts., game-high-tying 12 reb.) was one point shy of a double-double, while Gofine played a fine all-around game with eight points, 12 rebounds, four steals and five assists.

The Maccabees used a commanding 77-46 advantage on the glass to bolster sizeable edges in points in the paint (42-24) and second-chance points (32-4). YU also converted 42 Cooper Union (0-2) miscues into 43 points.

Yeshiva is back in non-conference action Tuesday night, when they travel to Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y., for an 8 p.m. tip-off at Bard College. Bard will provide a pair of multimedia outlets for fans to follow the contest on the internet, including live stats and a video webstream.
