PURCHASE, N.Y. - Junior guard Haley David (New York, N.Y.) led three Yeshiva University women's basketball players with double-digit scoring totals Wednesday night with 25 points, as the Maccabees battled throughout before losing their non-conference match-up at Purchase (N.Y.) by a 75-64 count.

David eclipsed the 20-point barrier for the fourth time this season for YU (3-7), knocking down 4-of-9 3-point field goals and 5-of-6 free throws along the way while pulling down nine rebounds. Junior Rebecca Yoshor (Houston, Texas) notched 17 points on 8-for-14 shooting, while collecting a team-high 12 caroms en route to her 23rd double-double in 27 career contests. Sophomore guard Stephanie Greenberg (Cedarhurst, N.Y.) went 3-for-6 from downtown, registering 13 points and six assists in a complete-game effort.

The game featured five ties and nine lead changes, and first-year head coach Nesta Felix's Yeshiva side led by five points at two junctures in the first half -- at 31-26 when sophomore Rebecca Furer (Teaneck, N.J.) knocked down a pair of freebies with 4:29 left, and with 15 seconds left in the half when senior Sara Rebecca Stromer (Teaneck, N.J.) knocked down a jumper to put the visitors up 41-36.

The Maccabees brought a 41-37 lead into the halftime break, and carried the lead briefly into the second half before the host Panthers (3-6) used a 9-0 run to take the lead for good less than three minutes in. YU found itself down by 20 (73-53) with 4:39 to go, before scoring 11 of the last 13 points of the contest to account for the final score.

Yeshiva is back in non-conference action on the road Sunday afternoon (Dec. 16), when it travels to Morristown, N.J., for a 1 p.m. tip at College of Saint Elizabeth.
