Men's ResultsWomen's Results RIVERDALE, NY --- The Yeshiva University men's cross country team took first place in the 14
th Annual Baruch College Cross Country Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx on Sunday morning in the eight kilometer race. The Maccabee women took second in the 5k event, narrowly edged by the Fashion Institute of Technology.
Senior
Noam Polster led the men with a time of 31:01, coming in seventh place overall and fourth place among all scoring runners. Sophomore
Avraham Raichman had an excellent debut, coming in just behind him with a time of 31:12. Senior
Shuey Mirkin rounded out the top three, coming in with a time of 31:53, seventh among competitors from scoring schools.
For the women, sophomore
Laurel Aaronson got her second season with Yeshiva up to an impressive start, coming in fourth place with a time of 27:19. Junior
Lyndsey Pere clocked in at 28:58, coming in 13
th overall and 11
th in the scoring. Right behind Pere was senior
Naomi Krohner, finishing with a time of 29:43.
It is the fourth time in five years the Maccabees have competed at the Baruch Invitational. Likewise, it is the fourth time in that span that the Yeshiva have placed second, while for the men it represents their second championship, having previously claimed the title in 2012.
The team will be back on the course at Van Cortlandt Park on Sunday, September 20
th when they compete at the Queensborough Community College Invitational.
