POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University women's fencing team competed in the Matt Lampell Hudson River Invitational, at the Walker Field House, on Sunday afternoon. The Maccabees dropped matches to Drew University (23-4), Queens College (17-10), University of Florida (25-2), and the City College of New York (14-13).
In the contest against Drew, freshman
Atara Sragow won one foil bout, while juniors
Rebecca Kerzner and
Noam Dery each picked up a victory in epee duels.
Against Queens, the epee team went 6-3 thanks to Kerzner, Dery, and senior
Jamie Baum each picking up two wins. Freshman
Shoshana Ciment won a foil bout, while sophomore
Talia Korn, junior
Gal Gir, and sophomore
Sarah Graff each earned a victory in sabre battles.
In the match against the University of Florida, Dery and Kerzner were victorious in one epee bout each.
The Maccabees just fell short against the Beavers of CCNY. In sabre, the Maccabees went 7-2. Korn won all three of her bouts, while Graff and Gir each won two. In epee, Dery and Baum won two duels apiece, while Kerzner earned one win. In foil, Ciment added a victory.

Sara Dobkin and and junior
Yael Eisenberg filled in for Vassar's B team, with the latter winning one foil bout.
Yeshiva will be fencing again on Sunday, December 4 at the NIWFA Invitational, out in New Brunswick, N.J.
