NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University women's fencing team competed in the EWFC Championships, on the campus of Hunter College, back on Sunday, February 14. The Maccabees fell in all seven matches they competed in.
In the match against Vassar, sophomore
Shana Horn picked up a win in sabre, while junior
Jamie Baum was victorious in epee. Horn was victorious again against Haverford, while junior
Nili Greenberg and sophomore
Rebecca Kerzner picked up wins in foil and epee respectively.
Greenberg and Baum won bouts against Drew University. In the sixth round against Hunter, Horn picked up her third sabre victory of the afternoon, while junior
Ariella Kerendian earned another victory in foil. Baum went 3-0 in epee, while Kerzner went 2-1.
In the final round against CCNY, sophomore
Hannah Bickford, Greenberg, and Kerendian each won a bout in foil. Kerzner picked up two more wins in epee.
The Maccabees will now prepare for the NCAA Northeast Regional which will take place on Sunday, March 13, at Vassar College. Yeshiva University will be the official host of the event.
