POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University women's fencing team competed in the EWFC Dual Meet Championships, on the campus of Vassar College, on Sunday afternoon. Yeshiva dropped its team duels to Hunter, CCNY, Drew, Vassar, Haverford, Stevens, and Johns Hopkins.
In epee, senior
Jamie Baum, freshman
Meira Weisblatt, and junior
Rebecca Kerzner all made it to the Direct Elimination of 16.
To qualify for the individual tournament a fencer had to participate in at least 75% of the team dual meet bouts and be in the top 16 finishers per their weapon based on W/L ratio, victories and indicators. Baum was seeded 13
th (with eight wins in the team event) but lost to Watkins seed #4 from CCNY 15-9. Weissblatt earned the 14
th seed and Kerzner finished 15
th.
In the team championship, The epée squad beat CCNY 5-4, Haverford 5-4, Hunter 7-2 and went 4-5 against Stevens
Sophomore
Sarah Graff, won all three of her saber bouts against CCNY, had the sole YU team win against Vassar and came in 17
th with five wins just missing the top 16 for the individual event.
Senior
Nili Greenberg, with four foil wins overall, had the sole YU team win against Johns Hopkins. Freshman
Shoshana Ciment with five foil wins also narrowly missed the top 16 for the individual event. Baum picked up eight wins, Weisblatt earned five victories, and Kerzner won four duels.

The Maccabees will now prepare for the NCAA Northeast Regional, which will take place on Sunday, March 12, at Yale University.
