BRONX, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University men's cross country team competed in the Monroe Mustang Invitational, at Van Cortlandt Park, on Friday afternoon. Yeshiva finished third overall, with 65 points, and had an average time of 33:38 as a team.
Leading the way for the Maccabees was senior
Yonatan Schreiber, who finished eighth overall in the 8k race, with a time of 31:15.1. He averaged 6:17.2 per mile. Junior
Jonathan Greenberg and sophomore
Zachary Greenberg finished 12
th and 13
th respectively, with the former completing the race at 32:58.4 and the latter crossing the finish line at the 33:31.0 mark.
The next three Yeshiva student-athletes to complete the run were sophomore
Joshua Hamburger (19
th overall at 35:12.4), junior
Jakob Deutsch (20
th place at 35:13.8), and classmate
Eli Frishman (21
st overall at 35:22.8).
Junior
Noah Hazan was the 24
th runner to cross the finish line, at 36:42.8, while senior
Arie Barkats and junior
Joshua Weinstein finished 27
th and 28
th, respectively. Junior
Daniel Elfenbein earned 32
nd overall, while classmate
Yoni Weisberg came in 34
th place.
Yeshiva will compete in the Immaculata Invitational, on Thursday. The time of the race will be announced next week.
