NEW YORK, N.Y. – This week's Yeshiva University Student-Athletes of the Week are sophomore
Leora Moskowitz of the women's tennis team and senior
Yonatan Schreiber of the men's cross country team.
Moskowitz went 2-0 in singles competition this week. The Teaneck resident picked up a victory in the first doubles position over John Jay, 8-6, on Tuesday evening. The first-year tennis student-athlete came back to win at No. 3 singles over the defending CUNYAC champions, 6-4, 6-3. In a Skyline match against St. Joseph's Brooklyn, on Friday afternoon, Moskowitz picked up a thrilling three-set victory at the second singles position, 6-7 (4-7), 6-1, 6-1.
Schreiber led the men's cross country team to a first-place finish at the Baruch College Invitational, on Sunday. The Denver native rounded out the top five in the 8k event at Van Cortlandt Park, completing the race in 30:05.59. Thanks to his strong effort, Schreiber was named to the Skyline Conference Weekly Honor Roll, on Monday.
