NEW YORK, N.Y. – This week's Yeshiva University Student-Athletes of the Week are junior
Bailey Frohlich of the women's tennis team and freshman forward
Jonah Beberman of the men's soccer program.
Frohlich was named to the Skyline Conference Weekly Honor Roll on Monday. The Boca Raton resident went 2-0 in Skyline No. 1 singles matches. Frohlich defeated Sarah Lawrence College's top player, 6-1, 6-1 on Friday afternoon, and was victorious against St. Joseph's Long Island's ace, 6-4, 6-3 on Sunday. She also earned a win at No 1 doubles against the Gryphons.
Beberman earned Skyline Conference Player of the Week honors, this past Monday. Beberman scored six goals, including two game-winners, in a pair of Skyline victories for Yeshiva this week. The Highland Park resident produced four goals against Sarah Lawrence College on Friday afternoon. All of his tallies came in the second half, including the ninth fastest hat trick in NCAA Division III history (2:58). With Yeshiva down 2-0 to St. Joseph's Long Island, with 22 minutes left to play in regulation on Sunday, Beberman scored two of YU's three goals to propel the Maccabees to a thrilling come-from-behind Skyline victory, the first win against St. Joseph's Long Island in program history.
