MILTON, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University men's cross country team participated in the Skyline Conference Championships, at the Hudson Valley Sportsdome, on Thursday afternoon. The Maccabees finished in eighth place with 221 points. The United States Merchant Marine Academy earned the Skyline Conference Championship for the second year in a row.
Yeshiva's top finisher was senior
Jonathan Greenberg, who was the 23
rd runner (out of 115 participants) to complete the 8k race, with a time of 30:49.86. The Cedarhurst native averaged 6:12.2 per mile.
Junior
Zachary Greenberg finished 58
th overall, crossing the finish line at 34:41.44. The second-year runner ran an average of 6:58.8 per mile.
Joshua Hamburger was the 63
rd runner to complete the race, finishing with a time of 34:57.73. Senior
Eli Frishman earned 71
st overall, as he ran the five-mile race in 36:38.30.
Rounding out the Yeshiva runners were junior
Avi Bodoff (37:52.55),
Aaron Purow (37:58.48), senior
Arie Barkats (38:45.76), and second-year runner
Daniel Elfenbein (39:16.22).
Yeshiva will conclude the season by competing in the Nick Russo Halloween Classic, at Branch Brook Park, on Sunday, November 10. The 5k race, hosted by New Jersey Institute of Technology, will begin at 12:00 p.m.
