NEW YORK, N.Y. – This week's Yeshiva University Student-Athletes of the Week are a pair of juniors,
Basya Goldstein (softball) and
David Hanelin (baseball).
Goldstein made history in game one against Baruch College, back on April 29, as her single up the middle in the fifth inning was her 28
th hit of the year, setting a program single-season record. Goldstein broke her own record, as the Teaneck resident produced 27 hits during the 2018 season. The left fielder finishes the year with a program single-season record 30 hits, as well as a batting average of .316.
Hanelin also made history, as his five singles during the doubleheader at College of New Rochelle, this past Friday, set a program single-season record for hits, with 31. The Los Angeles native drove in three runs, scored just as many times, and stole a base during the twin-bill. Hanelin now has a batting average of .333.Â
