BRONX - The Yeshiva University men's cross country team competed in the Br. John "Paddy" Doyle Meet of Champions, hosted by Iona College, at Van Cortlandt Park on Friday morning. The majority of the institutions that Yeshiva competed against were Division I and Division II programs. YU was one of just two Division III schools that participated.
The Maccabees finished 18
th overall with 535 points.
Leading the way for Yeshiva was senior
Jonathan Greenberg, as he set a personal-best time of 29:40.2 in the 8k race. Second-year runner
Joshua Hamburger crossed the finish line at the 33:58.9 mark. Junior
Avi Bodoff finished the race in 35:14.8, while classmate
Zachary Greenberg crossed the finish line less than a minute later. Junior
Eli Frishman rounded out the Yeshiva runners by running the race in 39:55.6.
The Maccabees will return to Van Cortlandt Park on Sunday, for the York College (N.Y.) Invitational. The men's race will begin at 11:00 a.m.
