STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University women's fencing team competed in the Brian Palestis Memorial Invitational on Sunday afternoon, hosted by Wagner College, at the Spiro Sports Center.
The Maccabees fell to the host Seahawks (24-0) and the Sharks of Long Island University (22-3).
In the bout against LIU, junior
Talya Stehley earned a hard-fought win in foil combat, 5-1. Sophomore
Ilana Aidman won a sabre duel, 5-2.
Qualified members of the Yeshiva University women's fencing team will compete in the NCAA Northeast Regional, hosted by Cornell University, at Stifel Fencing Salle on Sunday, March 8.
