MILTON, N.Y. - The Yeshiva University men's cross country team competed in the Skyline Conference Championships, at the Hudson Valley Sportsdome, on Sunday afternoon. The Maccabees finished third overall (98 points), their highest ranking since 2015. The United States Merchant Marine Academy took gold with 32 points.

Miy Mahran said. "They've worked really hard all season and it showed today. The guys left it all out on the course and worked together."
Junior
Marshall Northman finished fifth overall with a time of 28:02.4. Thanks to his strong performance, he earned a spot on the All-Skyline first team. He's the first Maccabee to earn that honor since Oliver Sax ('14) achieved it in 2013. Northman averaged 5:39 per mile over the course of the 8k race.
"Marshall is a great team player and a pleasure to coach," Mahran said. "He shows up and always gives it his all."
Senior
Jake Greenberg finished 18
th overall, out of 86 runners, with a time of 30:27.8. The Cedarhurst native ran an average of 6:08 per mile during the 4.97-mile run.
Sophomore
Gadiel Polster came in 28
th place at 31:53.1. Junior Jacob Weider finished 33
rd overall as he completed his run in 32:16.2. First-year runner
Kyle Seidel earned 39
th place with a time of 33:05.9. Senior
Aaron Purow was the 44
th runner to complete the race, finishing at 33:47.8.
"The boys ran great today," Yeshiva University Assistant Coach
Alex Petrecca said. "They executed their race plan well today and moved up throughout the race. At about halfway, it looked like it would be a close battle for third between us, Farmingdale State College, and St. Joseph's College Long Island. Each of the guys fought hard to ensure we grabbed third."

Samuel Metz rounded out YU's runners during the Skyline Championships.
"I'm really happy about today's results and I know we'll continue to have a strong team next year," Mahran said.
Yeshiva will compete in the Mustang Invitational, on Wednesday morning, at Van Cortlandt Park. The race is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.
