BROOKLYN - The Yeshiva University women's fencing team opened its 2021-22 season at the Shark Tank Challenge, hosted by Long Island University, on Sunday morning. YU dropped its bouts to Wellesley College (26-1), Stevens Institute of Technology (26-1), Drew University (25-2), Wagner College (27-0), LIU (25-2), and New Jersey Institute of Technology (23-2).

Julia Polster won a pair of epee bouts during the afternoon, the first against Wellesley and then the next one over Stevens. Senior
Ruth Lando won just as many foil bouts (versus LIU and Drew). Junior
Rebecca Quintas won a foil battle over LIU. Classmate
Leorah Lalezari picked up a win using the sabre weapon against Drew.
The Maccabees will compete in the Rangers Fall Invitational on Sunday, October 31, on the campus of Drew University. The action begins at 9:00 a.m.
