MADISON, N.J. – The Yeshiva University women's fencing team returned to Drew University on Sunday afternoon for two more bouts against the host school. YU dropped both battles (18-9 and 20-7). However, the Maccabees' epee team won both of its duels as a unit.
In the first battle against the Rangers, Yeshiva's epee team earned a 6-3 victory. Senior
Adina Passy went 3-0 using the epee weapon, while junior
Ruth Lando went 2-1. Classmate
Ilana Aidman added an epee victory of her own. In foil, senior
Talya Stehley won two out of three duels and Passy was victorious in one bout.
In the second matchup between the two schools, Yeshiva's epee team once again earned the victory, this time by a narrow 5-4 score. Passy and Lando each went 2-1, while Aidman picked up one victory. Lando won a foil bout and Aidman earned another victory, this time using the sabre weapon.
For the afternoon, Passy went 5-1 during epee competition and earned six victories total. Lando won five bouts during the two team duels.
