FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University men's cross country team opened the 2021 season at the Adelphi Panthers XC Invite, on Friday afternoon, at Bethpage State Park. Yeshiva did not score as a team.
Leading the way for the Maccabees was junior
Marshall Northman who finished 32
nd overall out of 156 runners, completing the 8k race in 27:59. It was Yeshiva's fastest 8k time in almost eight years. The Ohio native finished ahead of several Division II runners. Northman averaged 5:38 per mile over the course of the 4.97-mile race.
Senior
Jake Greenberg finished 64
th overall with a time of 29:42 (5:58 per mile). Classmate
Aaron Purow (106
th overall at 33:33) and junior
Kyle Seidel (109
th overall at 34:08) rounded out the Yeshiva runners.
The Maccabees will compete in the Mount Saint Mary College XC Series, at the Hudson Valley Sportsdome, on Sunday. The race is scheduled to begin at 10:45 a.m.
