NEW YORK – The No. 5 seed Yeshiva University men's soccer team continues its quest for a Skyline Conference Championship, as the Maccabees will battle against the top-seeded Valiants of Manhattanville College in the conference semifinals on Thursday. The action at GoValiants.com Field will begin at 5:00 p.m. The winner will battle either No. 2 seed Farmingdale State College or No. 3 seed United States Merchant Marine Academy in the Skyline Championship match this weekend.
It will be a battle of different styles, as Yeshiva's potent offense takes on Manhattanville's stifling defense. The Maccabees lead the Skyline with an average of 2.92 goals per match, while the Valiants top the league in lowest goals against average at 0.75 tallies allowed per contest.

Yeshiva (8-3-2) earned its spot in the Skyline Semifinals by winning a high-scoring thriller over No. 4 seed Mount Saint Mary College, 4-3, in the opening round of the league tournament at Kaplan Field on Sunday. Junior
Lucas Baredes netted two goals, including the match-winner, while senior goalkeeper
Benjamin Brener stopped a season-high eight shots for the Maccabees.
Manhattanville (9-4-4) earned the No. 1 seed by being unbeaten in 10 out of 11 conference contests, including seven victories.
This will be Yeshiva's second trip to the Manhatanville campus this year. In their head-to-head matchup in the regular season finale, back on October 25, the Valiants earned a narrow 1-0 victory. Freshman Arjan Delija scored the match-winning goal during the 76
th minute off a feed from senior Matt Rabadi.
This year, Baredes is playing a huge role in YU's attack by scoring ten goals and adding five assists. Junior
Josh Ziarno has scored eight goals, including four match-winners, and added four assists. He netted a goal during the Macs' postseason win over the Knights. Senior
Ethan Fettaya registered his sixth goal and eighth assist of the year in YU's opening-round triumph over Mount Saint Mary.
For the Valiants, senior Michael Mezzina has led the way with four goals and five assists this season, while graduate student Kendall Davis has produced four goals and three helpers. In net, junior Luis Granados has generated seven shutouts this year for Manhattanville.
