NEW YORK – The Yeshiva University women's fencing team will begin the 2022-23 season on Sunday at the Rangers Fall Invitational II. The action at Simon Forum will begin at 9:00 a.m.

Senior
Julia Polster will once again serve as captain of the epee squad. Classmate
Leorah Lalezari will be the captain of the sabre unit for the second year in a row. The two captains have fenced for YU since the 2020-21 season. Senior
Shaina Matveev will once again compete for the epee team, while senior
Molly Cate and junior
Shayna Kahane highlight the newcomers for the Maccabees. Both rookies will fence with the foil weapon.
Judy Cummins will enter her 22
nd year as head coach of the Yeshiva University women's fencing program, and 24
th year overall on the coaching staff. She will once again be assisted by
Sharone Huey and
Roberta Gonzalez.
