CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Yeshiva University women's fencing team competed in the Eric Sollee Invitational, on the campus of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, on Sunday afternoon. Yeshiva dropped team duals to MIT (24-3), Brandeis University (27-0), Boston College (27-0), Brown University (26-1), New Jersey Institute of Technology (24-2), and Stevens Institute of Technology (22-5).
Leading the way for the Maccabees was senior epee fencer
Julia Polster who won two out of three bouts against both MIT and Stevens. She also earned a victory against Brown.
In sabre competition, senior
Leorah Lalezari won two out of three battles over the Ducks. Sophomore
Rachel Jian also won a bout against Stevens.
Newcomer
Mikaela Amos was successfully in her collegiate fencing debut as she earned a foil victory over MIT.
Yeshiva will compete in the Brian Palestis Memorial Invitational, hosted by Wagner College at Spiro Sports Center, next Sunday. The action begins at 10:00 a.m.
