NEW YORK - Yeshiva University senior Marshall "Eitan" Northman has been selected as the Skyline Conference Men's Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The conference made the official announcement on Tuesday afternoon which can be seen here.
Northman had a very successful season for the Maccabees which resulted in him being named to the All-Skyline first team for the second year in a row. This season, the Shaker Heights native led Yeshiva to a dual-meet victory over Mount Saint Mary College, back on September 11, by winning the 5k race with a personal-best time of 16:54. Thanks to that strong performance, Northman was recognized as the Skyline Runner of the Week. At the Skyline Championship Meet, on October 23, he finished seventh overall out of 98 runners with an 8k time of 28:17.
On the academic side, Northman is an honors student at Yeshiva University who is majoring in political science and government. He earned a grade point average (GPA) of 4.0 during the fall semester.
Throughout his illustrious career, Northman won two races, earned a pair of All-Conference first team honors, was bestowed Skyline Runner of the Week accolades twice, and was the recipient of the Stanley Watson Award. The team captain set program 8k course records at Van Cortlandt Park, the Hudson Valley Sportsdome, and Bethpage State Park.
