Women’s Fencing Competes in Vassar Invitational

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - Taking on their first tournament of the 2024-25 season, the Yeshiva Women's Fencing Team took ok the Vassar College Invitational on Sunday, Nov. 10.
 
The Maccabees went 0-7 on the day, falling to: Yale University, Denison University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Haverford College, Sacred Heart University, Drew University and Vassar College.
 
With the result, the Macs are now 0-7 on the year.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Yeshiva's most successful outing by far came in round five against Haverford College. The Macs tallied 10 bout wins versus the Fords, seeing excellent sword play from Sarah Tobias in epee, Sofia Rauh and Leora Schramm in foil, and Beth Glantz and Rachel Jian in sabre.
     
  • Seeing success in nearly all of their matches overall, the Macs picked up points against six of their seven opponents, seeing bout wins versus Yale, FDU, Haverford, SHU, Drew and Vassar.
 
UP NEXT
Not competing again until February of next year, the Macs will take part in MIT's Eric Sollee Invitational on Sunday, Feb. 2.
