Golf Claims Top Spot at Yeshiva Invitational

Pelham Bay Park, NY - Hosting their first tournament of the season, the Yeshiva Golf Team took first place at the Yeshiva Invitational, coming out on top on Monday, Sept. 15th.

Yeshiva saw action against three other Skyline schools, teeing off against: St. Joseph's University Long Island, Manhattanville University and the University of Mount Saint Vincent.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • As a team the Maccabees finished in first place, scoring 325 points on the afternoon. Yeshiva beat out an SJLI team that also scored 325 points, coming out on top thanks to a tie-breaker that pitted the two squads' lowest individual scores against each other.

  • On an individual level, Yeshiva also claimed first prize, as Pinny Ehrenfeld topped the field with a card of 73 (+3).

  • Team Captain Gavi Steinlauf also finished in the 70s, putting up a 79 (+9).

  • Rounding out the field for the Macs, reigning Skyline Rookie of the Week Israel Bromberg notched an 86 (+16), Josh Anziska racked up an 87 (+17), and Noah Friedman tallied a 90 (+20).

UP NEXT
Not competing again until after the holidays, the Macs will travel down to Farmingdale State College on Friday, Oct. 17th for the FSC Skyline Invitational.
