NEW YORK, NY - Taking the links for the first time this season, the Yeshiva Golf Team posted stellar results at the Purchase College Invitational, finishing second overall on Monday, Sept. 8th.

The Maccabees saw action against a quartet of Skyline opponents, teeing off against: Mount Saint Mary College, Purchase College, the University of Mount Saint Vincent and Manhattanville University.

On top of being the team's season opener, the outing carries additional significance, as it serves as the coaching debut for new Head Coach Chad Austein.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- With a score of 344, the Macs finished second overall, beating out Manhattanville (350), Purchase (379) and UMSV (398).

- On an individual level, YU saw an outstanding performance out of rookie Israel Bromberg. The New Jersey native's score of 79 not only led his team, but the entire field, outpacing second place by two strokes. That slot was occupied by his teammate and fellow rookie Pinny Ehrenfeld, who had an excellent day of his own, carding an 81.

- Rounding out the field for the Macs, Joseph Sugarman hit a 90, Moses Keiser registered a 94, and Jonah Karesh notched a 121.

UP NEXT
Competing twice in as many days, the Macs will travel out to William Paterson University on Tuesday, Sept. 9th for the WPU Pioneer Invitational.
