TEANECK, NJ - Playing at home for the first time this season, the Yeshiva Men's Soccer team raced out to their first win of the season, dominating the York College Cardinals by a score of 8-0 on Friday, Sep. 4th.
Six different Maccabees found the back of the net.
Hadar Lavinsky led the way with a hat trick, while
Miles Form,
Omri Vashdi,
Franco Busso,
David Reuven, and
Uri Aron all added scores of their own.
With the result, the Macs are now 1-0-1 on the year.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Maccabees opened the floodgates early, scoring in just the ninth minute when Form headed in a beautiful corner kick sent in by Lavinsky.
- Yeshiva struck again just seconds later, going up 2-0 when Vashdi threaded a shot past the York keeper off a pass from Form.
- YU continued to barrage the Cardinal goalie, scoring in the 13th minute, the 15th minute, the 20th minute, the 23rd minute, the 27th minute, and the 28th minute.
- The Macs dominated the game in every sense of the word, tallying 21 shots to York's one, and seven corner kicks to York's zero.
- Unfortunately, with seven minutes left in the first half, York was forced to forfeit the game due to a lack of players following an injury.
